Awash in Beauty Cards

I love flowers and I love pink, so I really like how this card turned out. This card is mostly made with Stampin' Up!'s Awash in Beauty designer series paper. If you don't mind fussy cutting, you'll love this card too. Be sure to look at the end of this post to see more variations.

Awash in Beauty

DSP: Awash in Beauty
Stamps: Quiet Meadow (speckles), Blessings of Home (words)

The base card is Basic White Thick card stock. (5 1/2" x 8 1/2", then folded in half). The pink and white flower paper is from the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper (5 1/4" x 4"). The next layer is Shimmery White card stock (4 1/8" x 3 7/8") stamped with speckles in Balmy Blue ink. For this card, the speckles are a stamp from Quiet Meadow (but you could use any speckles you have). I wanted them to be lightly colored, so I stamped on scratch paper before stamping them on the Shimmery White card stock.

The floral bouquet was fussy cut from the Awash in Beauty DSP (<-- click the link to see the images of the designer paper). There are several variations of the floral bouquets, so choose the one you like. Or do like I did, and cut out all of them to make a bunch of cards. You can get 12 floral bouquets out of one sheet of DSP. I even used most of the ones that were on the edges, They look really good on a slightly smaller version. And don't throw out the sides with partial floral images because the other side of the paper has shades of Granny Apple Green which can become "grass" with a die cut.

Back to assembling the card, I glued the fussy cut flowers to the stamped Shimmery White card stock. I attached that piece to the card front with Dimensionals. For the word banner, I lightly watercolored Polished Pink ink (lots of water to make it light) onto narrow strips of Shimmery White card stock. After it dried, I stamped the words with Merry Merlot ink, then trimmed to the desired size. I adhered the word banner to the card with Dimensionals. I added three pink In Color Opal Rounds for some subtle bling. I made a small bow with White Baker's Twine and adhered it to the card with part of a glue dot.

Awash in Beauty Variations

This last picture has some variations of the same card design. The three cards on the left used the Basic White Note Cards. For those cards, I cut the pink/white DSP to cover the whole card front (3 1/2" x 5").. On two of the cards, I stamped the words with Merry Merlot ink directly onto the Shimmery White card stock (after the Balmy Blue spots were added). On some of these cards, I used pink rhinestones (from the retired Noble Peacock Rhinestones).

Have fun choosing the words you want to use while making varieties of this card for your friends and family.

NOTE: The words colored in pink are the names of Stampin' Up! product that you can find in my online store..
